Awarded « révélation Classique » by the ADAMI and award holder from the Fondation Cziffra, Louis Rodde studied in Paris with Roland Pidoux and Xavier Phillips. He received further tuition from Peter Bruns in Leipzig, and Clemens Hagen at Salzburg’s Mozarteum. Louis can regularly be heard as a soloist and chamber musician in such halls as the Musikverein in Vienna, the Konzerthaus in Berlin and the Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord and the Auditorium du Louvre (Paris), the Wigmore Hall (London), Flagey (Brussels), Schönbrunn Schlosstheater (Vienna), Palazetto Bru Zane (Venice), Salle Bourgie (Montréal). He regularly appears in renowned festivals such as the Encuentro de Santander, the Chorégies d’Orange, the Festival International de La Roque d’Anthéron, the Pablo Casals Festival in Prades, Schwetzingen and Mecklenburg Vorpommern Festspiele, and at Nantes, Tokyo and Warsaw « Folle Journée » festivals.
Quickly attracted by chamber music, he founds in 2009 the Karénine piano trio, with whom he has the chance to meet and learn from unforgettable personalities as the Ysaÿe Quartet members, Menahem Pressler, Jean-Claude Pennetier Ferenc Rados and Hatto Beyerle. Today also formed by violinist Fanny Robilliard and pianist Paloma Kouider, the trio is invited to participate to numerous festivals and concert seasons, in Europe, Japan, China. Before winning the ARD competition in 2013, they were awarded prizes in Vienna, Heerlen, Paris. The trio was awarded the NordMetall Ensemble Prize of the Festpiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in 2015. Under the label Mirare, a first album dedicated to Schumann’s trios has been released in April 2016.
Louis’s concerts are regularly broadcasted in France, The Netherlands, Germany and Austria. He his a member of the artists collective « Les Dissonances » , and he regularly takes part to the project « Les Salon Idéal », mixing classical and world music artists, jazzmen, singer-songwriters. Thanks to the associations « Esperanz’arts » and « Fous de Musique », and through musical projects in Sénégal and Haïti, Louis dedicates himself to humanitarian actions, sharing music with the most needy.
Louis has received support from the Accenture Foundation between 2012 and 2106, as well as from the Académie de Villecroze. He has enjoyed success in competitions at Epernay (1st prize) and Flame (2nd prize). Thanks to the French Instruments Fund, Louis plays a cello by François-Auguste Miremont. His first CD, dedicated to french sonatas by Fauré and Roparz, released in 2016 with the pianist Gwendal Giguelay under the label Nomad Music, has been warmly welcomed by the international press.
